Terms of business
Last updated: 23 October 2026.
These terms apply to every website we build and every monthly plan we provide. Your signed client agreement sets out your package and price. If the two ever disagree, the client agreement wins.
808 Pages is the trading name of Robbie Herbert. “We” means 808 Pages. “You” means the business buying from us. Our services are for businesses, not for personal use.
1. Your demo
1.1 Demos are free, with no obligation to buy.
1.2 We may build a demo using public information about your business, such as your reviews, photos and social media. We never publish a demo, or show it to anyone but you, before you agree.
1.3 If you don’t go ahead, the demo stays ours and we delete anything taken from your business within 30 days.
2. Building your website
2.1 Your client agreement lists what’s included. Anything extra is quoted and agreed in writing before we start it.
2.2 You’ll send us what we need (such as photos, logo, prices and service details) and confirm the information is accurate.
2.3 You can ask for up to two rounds of changes before launch. Further changes are charged at our hourly rate, quoted first.
2.4 When you approve the final version, we launch it, usually within a week.
2.5 Add-ons, such as a logo or business cards, are quoted and agreed before we start, and paid for with your build fee or when you order them later.
2.6 Before anything is printed, we send you a proof. Once you approve it, we print it exactly as approved. If a printed item has a mistake that was ours, we reprint it free.
3. Price and payment
3.1 The price is in your client agreement. We’re not VAT registered, so there’s no VAT to add.
3.2 The build fee is due in full when you approve the final site, before it goes live. Payments are taken securely by our payment provider, Stripe.
3.3 If you choose to spread the build fee, you pay it in 12 equal monthly payments, with no interest or fees. If your plan ends before all 12 are paid, the remaining build fee is due before we hand over your site.
3.4 Monthly plans are paid in advance and taken automatically each month. Your first month is paid when you approve your site.
4. Your monthly plan
4.1 A monthly plan comes with every website. It covers hosting, security, backups, renewing your web address, and the time for changes included in your plan.
4.2 Unused time for changes doesn’t carry over to the next month.
4.3 Send changes through our Request a change form or by email. We reply within one working day and aim to finish small changes within two working days.
4.4 Work beyond your plan is charged at our hourly rate, always quoted and agreed first.
5. Founding client prices
5.1 If you’re one of our first 20 clients, your founding prices are locked in for as long as your plan continues without a break.
5.2 If you leave and come back later, our prices at that time apply.
5.3 For everyone else, we may change plan prices with at least 30 days’ written notice.
6. Late or missed payments
6.1 If a payment fails, we’ll let you know and try again.
6.2 If a payment is more than 14 days late, we may pause changes until it’s paid. If it’s more than 30 days late, we may take your site offline after giving you 7 days’ written notice.
6.3 We reserve our right to statutory interest and compensation on late payments under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.
7. Who owns what
7.1 Once the build fee is paid in full, you own your website’s design and content made for you.
7.2 We keep ownership of our own reusable code, templates and tools. We give you a permanent, free licence to use them as part of your website, including if you move it elsewhere.
7.3 Your web address is registered in your name from day one.
7.4 Until a spread build fee is paid in full, we license the website to you while your payments are up to date.
7.5 We may show your website in our portfolio and on our own site, unless you tell us not to.
7.6 Once a logo we design for you is paid for, you own it. We check the UK trade mark register for obvious clashes, but this isn’t a full legal clearance. If you want to register your logo as a trade mark, take legal advice first.
8. Your content
8.1 You confirm that you have the right to use everything you send us, including photos, logos and text, and that the information about your business is accurate.
8.2 You’re responsible for what your website says about your prices, services and qualifications. We may refuse content that we reasonably think is unlawful or misleading.
9. Hosting and results
9.1 We use reliable providers and keep backups, but we can’t guarantee your site will never be unavailable. If it goes down, we’ll work to fix it as quickly as we reasonably can.
9.2 We set every site up properly for Google, but we can’t guarantee search rankings, enquiries or sales.
10. Leaving
10.1 There’s no minimum term. Either of us can end your plan with 30 days’ written notice.
10.2 When you leave, we’ll give you your website files and help transfer your web address, once any amounts owed are paid.
10.3 We may end your plan straight away if you seriously break these terms, or if payments are more than 60 days late.
11. Liability
11.1 We’re not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits, lost business or lost opportunities.
11.2 Our total liability to you in any 12 months is limited to what you paid us in those 12 months.
11.3 Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow to be limited.
12. Your customers’ data
When your website collects your customers’ details, the data processing terms below apply. They form part of these terms.
13. General
13.1 We may update these terms with 30 days’ written notice. Changes don’t affect work already agreed.
13.2 If any part of these terms can’t be enforced, the rest still applies.
13.3 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales deal with any dispute.
Data processing terms
These form part of the terms of business.
- Roles. You are the controller of personal data collected through your website. We are your processor.
- Your instructions. We only process this data to provide our services to you, or as the law requires. If we think an instruction breaks data protection law, we’ll tell you.
- Confidentiality. Anyone who handles the data for us is bound to keep it confidential.
- Security. We use encrypted connections, two-step sign-in on our accounts, access limited to the people who need it, and reputable providers.
- Sub-processors. You agree to us using Cloudflare (hosting and file storage) and Web3Forms (forms, on Amazon Web Services). We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before adding or replacing one, and you can object. We hold each sub-processor to data protection terms at least as strict as these. Where data is stored outside the UK, it’s protected by UK-approved safeguards.
- Helping you. We’ll help you, at no extra cost for reasonable requests, to answer people exercising their data rights, and with your own security and data protection obligations.
- Breaches. If we become aware of a personal data breach affecting your data, we’ll tell you without undue delay, and within 48 hours where we can, with the information you need.
- At the end. When your plan ends, we’ll delete your customers’ data from our systems within 30 days, or return it first if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it.
- Checks. We’ll give you the information you reasonably need to show we’re meeting these terms, and allow reasonable checks with notice.
- Your side. You’re responsible for having a lawful basis to collect the data, and for the privacy notice on your website. We provide a template for you to approve.
